The previous vp made the request on Friday, following his first public statements on Reade’s accusation that he sexually assaulted her in a Senate hallway in 1993 when she labored for him.
Secretary of the Senate Julie Adams mentioned the chamber has “no discretion to reveal any such data,” citing confidentiality necessities below the legislation.
The Biden marketing campaign adopted up by asking if the secretary may disclose whether or not the information exist; if there's anybody else, corresponding to Reade, who may request the associated paperwork; and if the Senate may launch any procedures utilized by the workplace that will have overseen such a grievance on Capitol Hill within the 1990s.
Reade has mentioned she filed a grievance with the congressional personnel workplace in 1993 that described her issues about Biden. She informed the Related Press on Friday that she didn't use the phrases “sexual harassment” or “sexual assault” within the grievance.
Biden has strenuously denied the allegation.
