Lady killed in South Carolina alligator assault

A lady was killed in an alligator assault Friday at a South Carolina pond.


Cynthia Covert, 58, died after encountering the gator on Kiawah Island round 5 p.m., a seashore and golf resort on the Atlantic Coast, in accordance with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Workplace and native reviews.


A deputy witnessed the assault and shot and killed the gator, NBC Information reported.



An investigation is ongoing and the circumstances across the assault weren't instantly clear.


Alligator assaults in South Carolina are uncommon, in accordance with the Charleston Submit and Courrier.


The primary documented deadly alligator assault got here in 2016, when a 90-year-old lady was killed. One other lady was killed by the mammoth reptile in 2018, the paper stated.
