Former Rockford Peaches pitcher Mary Pratt dies at age 101

BRAINTREE, Mass. — Mary Pratt, who performed for the Rockford Peaches and Kenosha Comets within the All-American Ladies Skilled Baseball League, has died. She was 101.


Pratt died on Wednesday. Her nephew, Walter Pratt, advised The Patriot Ledger she handed away peacefully at a nursing residence.


Pratt pitched within the girls’s league from 1943-47. The league was profiled within the 1992 film “A League of Their Personal.”


She was believed to be the final surviving member of the unique 1943 Peaches. The league stated in a tweet that Pratt’s “tales, her vitality will probably be missed for a very long time.”


Pratt additionally taught bodily training for 46 years. The Bridgeport, Connecticut, native was a coach and referee in a number of sports activities.


She was inducted into the Boston College Corridor of Fame and Boston Backyard Corridor of Fame.
