Harrison Ford aircraft incident below investigation by FAA


Harrison Ford says an airport runway incident now below investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration took place as a result of he “misheard a radio instruction.”


The 77-year-old star, who's an avid pilot, was working a aircraft at California’s Hawthorne Airport on April 24 when he crossed a runway whereas one other plane was touchdown.


“Mr. Ford crossed the airport’s solely runway in his plane after he misheard a radio instruction from [air traffic control],” Ford’s rep informed Web page Six in a press release Wednesday. “He instantly acknowledged the error and apologized to ATC for the error. The aim of the flight was to take care of foreign money and proficiency within the plane.”


His rep added that nobody was injured within the incident and “there was by no means any hazard of a collision.”


The FAA confirmed that the 2 plane had been roughly 3,600 ft away from one another on the time.


“The FAA is investigating an incident wherein the pilot of an Aviat Husky taxied throughout the runway at Hawthorne Municipal Airport Friday afternoon whereas one other plane was performing a touch-and-go touchdown,” an FAA spokesperson informed CNN in a press release.


The “Indiana Jones” star, who collects classic planes, has been concerned in a lot of aviation incidents up to now and was hospitalized in 2015 after making a compelled touchdown on a golf course.
